Aloha,

The O'ahu Bike Plan project is underway. The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services is beginning its update of the 1999 Honolulu Bicycle Master Plan. The new plan will cover the entire island of O‘ahu and will guide future planning to better integrate bicycling into the island’s transportation system. The plan will take a comprehensive approach in evaluating current projects, policies and programs, and will make recommendations to improve Oahu’s bike-friendliness. The plan will also be providing recommendations to ensure that the City and County's transit systems are bike accessible.

The plan update includes a variety of opportunities for public involvement in identifying routes, establishing priorities and assisting in the evaluation of supporting plans and policies. The first of two series of public workshops will be held in the evenings of May 13 – 15.

May 13 - Leeward at Kapolei Hale from 7-9 pm
May 14 - Windward at Pali Golf Course from 7-9 pm
May 15 - Metro Honolulu at Blaisdell Center from 6:30-8:30 pm

The project timeline, newsletters, and other plan update materials can be accessed at the project website. Please complete the online questionnaire so we can learn more about your ideas for making O'ahu more bike friendly.

A project fact sheet is also attached. Please consider forwarding this email to friends and colleagues to get the word out. We look forward to your participation.
